Basking in glorious sunshine today, gardeners seldom sit in the sun for very long though. Something always catches our eye that needs tending to, although now and again it is nice to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

The borders are very dry at the moment, we really could stand a good downpour. Myra at the moment is watering the raised rose border in the front garden, it has been smothered with the HT rose Laura Ann, blooms are a peachy pink and this one has a lovely fragrance. We have been dead heading them frequently, first flush is just past its best, it is now time to give the roses a second feed of rose plus, which will set them up nicely for the second flush.

This rose bed has a trellis fence behind, which is smothered with Clematis, and is also edged with Lavender, which gives a very good effect to any rose bed.
