- We moved into our Bridge of Dee home in 1985. My wife Myra and I took early retirement in November 2005,which has given us plenty spare time to continue with our much loved gardening passion. After 30 years as shopkeepers our life of leisure is very much appreciated. We have two married daughters both with Husbands named Martin. We have two grandsons, Owen and Curtis whom we are so very proud of.The purpose of this blog, is to give me something else other than gardening to occupy my mind. The aim is to provide information to gardeners in the Aberdeen area of plants which I have had success with over the many years of gardening. Some of the plants we see in the garden centres are just too tender for our cooler climate and of course many absolutely thrive.
